Planning Board

The Planning Board meets the last Monday of Month at 6:00 pm at the Whiting Community Building.   The Chairman of the Planning Board is David Burns, other Board Members are Kenneth Smith, Thomas Harmon, Charles Spencer, Derek Stevens.
Listed below please find the Building permit in pdf format for you  to read and print. Once completed please either drop it by the  town office or mail it in. It must be submitted no later than one week prior to meeting. The applicant or representative must be present at the meeting. We have also posted the Building Permit Ordinance for your reference, should you  find that  you have questions please contact a Board member for information.

Doing business in Whiting 

At a Special Town Meeting on April 17, 2023, Whiting passed new ordinances and policies covering the shoreland zoning ordinance and building permits. The ordinances and policies are posted on the Town website at www.whitingmaine.com.

Whiting residents, taxpayers and contractors doing business in Whiting are reminded that the Town requires building permits before demolition and/or construction commence, and failure to comply with state and local permits requirements can and will result in fines and penalties.

Land Use ( Building ) Permit applications may be obtained at the Town Office or online at www.whitingmaine.com. Applications must be submitted to the Town Office one week prior to the Whiting Planning Board meetings, which are held the last Monday of each month.
